The sugar cube hitting the spumante is the film's closing beat — everything the family broke over the past two days gets toasted back together at the kitchen table. It's an old Italian-American celebration trick: the cube keeps the fizz rolling long after the pour.

Method
- Set a sugar cube in the bottom of each glass.
- Pour the sparkling wine slowly over it and watch it storm with bubbles.
- Wait for the whole family to be present, however improbable that seems.
- Raise the glass: Alla famiglia.
