It's a hard grape: thin-skinned, fussy, unforgiving of neglect, and heartbreaking when it's right — pale, silky, red-fruited, and haunting. Santa Barbara County (where the whole road trip unfolds) makes some of the best in the world, but you don't need a cult bottle to taste why Miles is obsessed.
