It's the bleakest of the diary pies — invented in the same breath as a bad night with Earl, deliberately lumpy, deliberately mashed together, and set on fire anyway. Jenna's worst days still get a name and a garnish.

Ingredients

1 blind-baked pie crust
2 cups cooked oatmeal, slightly underdone (lumpy, on purpose)
1 cup crumbled fruitcake
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons dark rum, for flambéing

Method

Fold the oatmeal, crumbled fruitcake, brown sugar, cinnamon, and eggs together — leave it lumpy; that's the point.
Spread into the baked crust and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, until set.
Cool slightly, then warm the rum in a small pan, light it, and pour it flaming over the pie tableside.
Serve the moment the flame dies down.
