Daddy's Dogs is a Nashville institution built around one simple format — a hot dog, endlessly dressed up — and the Music City Dog is its signature loaded version. It's the episode's junk-food interlude between two barbecue-and-biscuit heavy stops, and Phil treats it with exactly the same enthusiasm as the fine-dining plates elsewhere in the season.

Ingredients

4 all-beef hot dogs
4 hot dog buns
1 cup shredded Cheddar
4 strips bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Method

Grill or pan-sear the hot dogs until well browned and hot through.
Toast the buns lightly.
Set each hot dog in a bun and top immediately with shredded Cheddar so the residual heat starts to melt it.
Scatter with chopped bacon and diced onion, then finish with a generous drizzle of barbecue sauce.
