Bubba's litany, in full spirit: barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it — shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried, pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. "That's about it." The greatest single menu in cinema, delivered in the rain.
The company is real now. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. became an actual restaurant chain — a fictional dream that ate its way back into reality.
The box of chocolates belonged to Mrs. Gump's philosophy first; the film hands it to strangers at a bus stop. "You never know what you're gonna get" outsold every other line of its decade.
Apples aren't fruit companies. Forrest's "some kind of fruit company" investment — Apple Computer — is the film's best food joke that contains no food.
